CAMBRIDGE SYMPHONY TO BE BENEFICIARY OF CITY ‘ARTS CONNECT’ FUND RAISER
We are delighted to be able to inform all our supporters that the CSO has been chosen to be one of three recipients of funds raised by the City’s “Arts Connect” group.
Arts Connect was established last year with a mandate to support arts organisations throughout the City using the generous donation of a single Drayton Entertainment production at the Dunfield Theatre. This year’s event will take place on March 5, at the Dunfield Theatre and will feature the opening night of “Twist and Shout – The British Invasion”.
We know that our supporters are lovers of classical music but we also know that they are lively baby boomers who grew up during the most fantastic era of pop music ever and have great memories of that period when we…………..Well perhaps we had better not mention all that we did in that period!.
Funds raised from this event will help the Orchestra develop its schools program, grow the orchestra, expand our repertoire and invite talented guest soloists so we are asking you to purchase tickets and attend this spectacular show and performance of the most memorable songs of the sixties. Those of you who have young or adult children who perhaps don’t share your love of classical music, can discover the rock n’ roller in you and that “Roll Over Beethoven” is not how you describe LvB’s sheet music. So bring them along to do the twist, the shake, the mashed potato, the locomotion and, of course, everyone’s favourite, the watusi.
There will be a pre- show party featuring music by The Machine, refreshments and dancing demonstrations. It’s going to be a fabulous evening at the Dunfield Theatre, so purchase your tickets NOW!
Tickets: $50 (inclusive of party)

Explore the Score – series announced

Please join Sabatino Vacca, Music Director of the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra for a new series called “Explore the Score”. These fun and informal talks are designed to enrich the experience of concert-goers by providing a deeper background and understanding of the music to be performed by the orchestra throughout the coming season. Details of our next “Explore the Score” will be posted when they are available. It will be a pay-as-you-can event in keeping with our CSO policy.
