“The Neurosciences tell us that nothing fosters higher cognitive development more than playing a musical instrument. The Cambridge Youth Orchestra provides an opportunity to develop this musical excellence in a setting of meaningful friendships.”

- Joy Schuster, conductor of the CYO

“The orchestra is great for teaching how to play in large groups and brings together youth with a passion for music. I’ve played the violin since I was 6 years old and recently picked up the viola for the Cambridge Orchestra. It has been a wonderful and fulfilling experience so far. ”

- Audrey Gray, Cambridge Youth Orchestra

The Cambridge Youth Orchestra was formed to give young performers an opportunity to develop orchestral ensemble and musical skills. The Cambridge Youth Orchestra has grown and evolved, performing on occasion with the CSO and at community events.

The CYO rehearses on Sundays at the Cambridge Centre for the Arts from 5 - 6 PM.

Please contact Joy Schuster for information in becoming part of the orchestra.
