Laureen Giesbrecht

Originally from Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Laureen's musical journey began at the age of 9 playing the flute in her local public school band program. A seasoned performer, she has played with many ensembles, concert bands, wind ensembles, orchestras, jazz bands, music theatre, and chamber groups over the years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. Laureen is a Certified Music Therapist and Personal Support Worker with her work focusing on seniors, primarily in dementia care and palliative care. Laureen has been a member of the CSO both as principal Flautist and Orchestra librarian since it was founded in 2002.
